Microsoft Teams - Create and Share a Teams Meeting Link

How to Create and Share a Microsoft Teams Meeting Link for Ad Hoc Meetings

Sometimes, you might want a single Microsoft Teams meeting link that you can reuse for multiple meetings or easily share with others for spontaneous discussions. Here, we'll show you a simple way to create a reusable Microsoft Teams meeting link that you can use over and over again.

Step 1: Create a "Meet Now" Meeting in Teams

Open Microsoft Teams:

  • From the left sidebar in Teams, select Calendar (or Meetings, depending on your version).

Start an Instant Meeting:

  • Click the Meet now button at the top right of the calendar view.

Join the Meeting:

  • A new window will open. Click Join Now to start the meeting. This will generate a unique meeting link.

Step 2: Copy your Teams Meeting link

Now select the Copy meeting link.

Your link will look similar to this (note this won't work as we've disabled this team meeting link)

https://teams.microsoft.com/l/meetup-join/{your meeting id details}

Step 3: Reuse the Link for Multiple Meetings

  • This meeting link can be used for future meetings. Anyone who clicks the link will join the same meeting room, making it easy for ad hoc conversations without creating new meetings each time.
  • Tip: This is particularly useful if you want to keep an open meeting room for ongoing discussions throughout the day or week.

Bonus: Use Your Teams Meeting Link in a Live Chat for Visitors

If you're using  Social Intents, you can share your reusable Teams meeting link with visitors to invite them to join you for impromptu meetings. Simply include the link in your chat responses to quickly set up a video meeting with clients or team members.
