Department to Slack Channel Mapping

You can modify the Slack channel you route your live chats to right from the Live Chat settings page.

You can also choose to create Departments or Groups and map each to a separate Slack Channel.  This works very well when you have multiple teams that you may want to direct Slack Live Chats to.

Here's how the Department set up works.

1. Select your Live Chat you want to map

First go to My Apps then select Edit Settings on the Live Chat you want to configure.

2. Create your Department to Slack Channel Mapping

From your settings page, go to the Customize Text tab and you'll see a Groups/Departments Text option for the pre-sales page.  First name the drop down list and make sure to Toggle the department list to On.

Then create your Department names and map each to a separate Slack channel.

You can add or remove department names as needed.

Once you save your settings, you'll see the Department list in your pre-sales page:

Once the chat is started, your Slack invite will route to the channel you've selected.
